Gardening With Kids From Toddlers To Teens (1)

Gardening with kids can be a fun and educational experience all rolled up in one!  I love making everyday things fun and educational!

We have a small garden and intend to expand it each season.  I check on it twice everyday and I can’t make it out of the house before hearing tiny feet chasing me “Nana, outside?” She LOVES to come out to the garden with me.  She loves to watch the bees and look at the weeds flowers or as she calls them “flowies”, and dig in the dirt.

One of our younger grandsons also loves to see the garden, too.  He wants to grow sunflowers at his house, but he always asks what is what in the garden and takes a real interest.

Gardening with kids applies to tiny ones all the way through high school.  I have an older grandson who actually helped me dig out the newest section of the garden this time and he asked many questions and seemed to enjoy himself.

This all led me to learn more about working a garden alongside younger and older children, and especially gardening with toddlers since that’s the one that lives here.

Gardening, whether it’s a flower garden, vegetable garden, or garden beds, where they learn how to grow their fresh produce is always a great opportunity and wonderful way to get the little kids and even the older kids out into the fresh air.

Not only do gardening activities get the little helper and entire family outside it’s also a great way for them to learn new skills. Even the whole family can have a learning experience from any simple garden projects.

You don’t even need a ton of outdoor space or garden space to have a fun project or to pique child’s interest. Kids of all ages will have so much fun.

All you need is some garden inspiration. You could even have an indoor garden. It would still be an educational activity and give the whole family the chance to see the beauty of nature.

I looked around and gathered info on working in the garden beside toddlers and preschoolers to be able to help them learn and have fun at the same time!  Also, don’t forget the kid’s garden tools, you can find all sorts of things here <—
