I Have A Secret… Can You Relate?
So, I’ve noticed over the last many months that I use the word “so” to start a blog post. So, that’s something you’ll have to get used to because apparently I can’t stop. Because I tried. I feel like it’s because I’m explaining something and so I have to start with the word “so”. Anyway, I’ve already gotten off track and we’re only three sentences into this post LOL.
I need to come clean and confess something to y’all today: I am a Reality TV Junkie. I can’t be the only one out there, some people reading this must also love reality TV shows. Because,… I can’t be the only one out there…
…a genre of television programming that documents supposedly unscripted real-life situations, and often features an otherwise unknown cast of individuals who are typically not professional actors, although in some shows celebrities may participate. It differs from documentary television in that the focus tends to be on drama, personal conflict, and entertainment rather than educating viewers…
Sounds just about right! lol But, not just any reality TV, I can’t watch the ones where people have to kiss multiple people to figure out who they’re going to win the show with, to me that’s just too gross and I can’t watch it. I tried, but I failed.
However, I do love the Real Housewives… all of them… Auckland, London, Dallas, Vicki in the OC, every last one of them including the ones that failed: Washington and Miami. I do think Bethenny is my favorite. I may not always agree with her, but, I love that she is just real.
But, I really love a lot more than just those types of shows, I am a huge fan of Survivor I’ve never missed an episode, I’ve never missed an episode of Big Brother, I’ve never missed an episode of The Amazing Race, I love them all. I have watched Twinning, (the winners of which are on Project Runway, this season) and I watch Ice Road Truckers… I mean, I watch all kinds!
It doesn’t matter if they have been around forever or if they are new reality TV shows, I love them all. I was laughing telling my husband the other day I was so into this new cooking reality show House Of Food that was on MTV and I thought it was just really good and I couldn’t wait for another season and come to find out this was one season they did in 2014 and dropped it… I really liked it… LOL You can watch it on their app or website, if you want to see it.
So, I guess what I’m getting at is I’m going to be talking about reality TV, which is the one thing I hadn’t thought about covering when I started this blog, however, I really do enjoy discussing the shows. I have a friend, Alli from Dancing Through The Rain, who watches a lot of them, too, and we discuss them. She draws the line at Real Housewives, and I draw the line at The Bachelor and those kind, she watches those and I watch the Real Housewives. However, I have to say I did like Dating Naked… That was kind of interesting, but I can’t bring myself to watch Naked and Afraid – lol. Of course, I think the ones I watch are the best reality TV shows!
So, I will be sharing my thoughts and my feelings about the reality TV series that I watch with all of you on this blog to keep from tweeting at the people on the shows because I’ve been doing that recently. Because they make me nuts at times. I’ll be talking about the people on the new reality shows and the old ones that we love, the people on the shows we’d like to sit down in our living room and explain how life works to them, the people who other people love to hate… (Because of course we are not those type people, we don’t hate…) LOL
I’d love to know who your favorite people are on reality TV and what your favorite reality TV shows are. I love a lot of people from a lot of different shows. We’ll mainly be talking about American Reality TV Shows, because some of the reality shows in other countries are just weird… I am talking to you Celebrity Big Brother, U.K.!
I love Dr. Will from Big Brother, and Mike Boogie from Big Brother and, Howie, Janelle, and Kaysar from Big Brother. I love Boston Rob from Survivor, I love Ozzy from Survivor, I love Caroline Manzo I think she’s awesome, formerly from Real Housewives of New Jersey. I like that she can be so real, I also love D’Andra on the Real Housewives of Dallas because she can be so real with Leanne and Leanne takes it from her so well. Funny thing, though, I told you I watch a LOT of reality tv and I actually knew of Rich before Leanne was on RHOD, I watched him on Dallas SWAT.
I do have to say, in my opinion, after watching Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team for years and how they uphold the organization, Kelli and Judy must really be wishing that Brandi (from The Real Housewives Of Dallas) were not on that show, or would stop reminding people she was a DCC, because she really is not giving the team a good name. On a side note – I like the Brandi that hangs out with Leeanne, she is MUCH more mature and tamer. Stephanie brings out the not nice in Brandi.
I am also so excited and can’t wait for American Idol to return! I never missed an episode of that before it went off the air, either. It is definitely coming back and Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryant are going to be the judges and Ryan will be back too! I can’t wait!
I’m excited about Celebrity Big Brother that’s coming up this fall. I am excited, kind of, about Cody and Jessica being on The Amazing Race although I hated the way they played Big Brother this past summer, hopefully they play the Amazing Race better. I love when they cross over the good reality TV shows like that. Years ago on the early Big Brother’s they brought in some of the Survivor contestants who spent time with the Big Brother people and that was always cool.
One of my favorite challenges on The Amazing Race was with Boston Rob and Amber, after they did Survivor. They had a challenge where they had to eat a TON of meat, and Rob couldn’t do it (as we witnessed on an eating challenge he participated in on Survivor). He is soooo ingenious, though, and I have never seen anyone try or succeed at something like this, but, he and Amber took the penalty AND convinced 2 teams behind them to take it, too! Which insured they would not be in last place after the penalty – which was 4 hours, by the way! … so slick! Russell only wishes he was that good! lol
I also think Rob’s stunt beat Johnny Fairplay’s lie about his grandmother on Survivor!
That’s it, for now. Please don’t forget to tell me your favorite people and shows in the comments. Plus, I’d love to know if you have ever auditioned for one or would ever consider it. I don’t know that I could ever be on reality TV! One day we’ll have to talk about our favorite moments on the shows, too!
